I've got nothin' to write about. Lots of undone project; that's what I've got.
Borrowed quilting frames (they were at my sis's house, but technically still my mom's). I've got a quilt or two to toss on. No quilting stitches for now, just tied quilts. And then binding. Wish I would have started on them sooner.
Trying to figure out "fun" presents. I have some presents for them that they've needed / wanted, but few that are "fun". Working on it.
My house is the pit of dispair. Lots of loads of laundry to do. Fridge to clean out and pull out and mop under both it and the stove. Usually do that before Thanksgiving. At least I cleaned the oven before baking those yummy pies at Thanksgiving. Need to do something with the boxes of my mom's that have taken over several rooms in my house. But came home from church feeling like garbage. Haven't fully recovered from any illness this season. Is there more out there this year? or is my immune system so weak that I'm wearing a sign to germs saying, "Hop aboard!"
In other news: school is only in session thru Thursday. I'm so glad for the reprieve!
Hope your Christmas preparations are going along more quickly and smoothly than mine.
This has been my theme song this season:
And here are the lyrics:
WE NEED A LITTLE CHRISTMAS
Mame:
Haul out the holly;
Put up the tree before my spirit falls again.
Fill up the stocking,
I may be rushing things, but deck the halls again now.
For we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For I've grown a little leaner,
Grown a little colder,
Grown a little sadder,
Grown a little older,
All:
And I need a little angel
Sitting on my shoulder,
Need a little Christmas now.
Mame:
Haul out the holly;
Well, once I taught you all to live each living day.
All:
Fill up the stocking,
Young Patrick:
But Auntie May, it's one week from Thanksgiving Day now.
All:
But we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute,
Candles in the window,
Carols at the spinet.
Yes, we need a little Christmas
Right this very minute.
Agnes:
It hasn't snowed a single flurry,
But Santa, dear, we're in a hurry;
Ito:
So climb down the chimney;
Put up the brightest string of lights I've ever seen.
All:
Slice up the fruitcake;
It's time we hung some tinsel on that evergreen bough.
For we need a little music,
Need a little laughter,
Need a little singing
Ringing through the rafter,
And we need a little snappy
"Happy ever after,"
Need a little Christmas now.
Need a little Christmas now.
I need Christmas this year. And it better be good, dangit! ;-)
Looking at the ticker tape at the top of your blog...only 33 days to go! Only 33 more days, Grandma! Woohoo! :) :) :)

ReplyDeleteOh my goodness... I feel for you! Hang in there, you'll get what you need to done and the rest of it won't matter! Cut yourself a break and take a little nap during the day if you have to. Sometimes just a 20 minute nap does wonders.
ReplyDeleteLove the song!
Happy Christmas to you!!
ReplyDeleteI have managed several loads of laundry the last few days... but now everything else is a wreck! :)
I have tons of unfinsihed projects as well.
ReplyDeleteWow...I didn't realize your grandbaby was going to be born so soon!!! That must be exciting!!!
