In Pics~ Soft Kitty, Warm Kitty, Little Ball of Fur::And The Lilac Bush::March 27

It was a warm day, last Sunday, so when the golden light of sunset beckoned, I answered the call.

The kitties that the stray mama cat had last spring have grown up. Since Smokey disappeared, I'm glad that I've got a cat or two to take pics of.

I've been excited to see flowers popping up and green leaves unfolding on the trees. My lilac bush's leaves are starting to open.

But still, most of the world still looks like it is at rest. Even on the lilac tree.

In the past week, we've had highs above 70*, and we've had snow. Yep, it's spring :)

Happy Birthday, Dear Bentley!::11/52::March 24

Last week was Ben's 1st birthday. We celebrated at Chuck E Cheese.

Karen went all out having a Sesame Street themed birthday party & preparing the cupcakes to look like Cookie Monster and fruit and vegetable trays that looked like other muppet characters. We all enjoyed snacking on the fruit & vegies and dip, and she even bought us some pizza too.

After playing games and waiting for everyone to arrive, it was time for the candle & cake! Ben wasn't sure what to do, but loved watching the smoke afterward :)
~ Also, this is the pic I'm using for week 11:

He wanted to eat his cupcake with both hands! :)

He was a very careful eater, and wasn't very messy even after eating half of his cupcake. This look on his face reminds me of Arnold from "Diff'rent Strokes", "Whatchu talkin' 'bout, Grandma Mema" :)

And then a hug from Chuck E. himself. Ben wasn't quite sure what to make of the big guy:

I can't believe a year has gone by since he was born! It seems like only a few weeks ago that he looked like this:

I'm so glad that he is part of our family! He is such a fun little guy! Instead of walking, I'm pretty sure he's going to bounce around like Tigger, since he likes to bounce more than walk! He has the biggest smile for everyone he loves. Instead of talking quietly, he prefers to yell :) Such a sweet little guy, and he has Grandma completely wrapped around his little finger. Happy Birthday, dear Bentley! Grandma Mema loves you! ♥

The Grandkiddos::10/52::March 15

Last week the grandkiddos came to my house. It was the day after Daylight Savings time, and we were all pooped. Even Aiden took a nap! :)

I'll count this for the 52 Photo Project:

Truth::March 9

Sometimes Truth comes in the least likely places. I'm pondering on the following quote ~ today is a good day for me to have read it.

"I started to leave, then stopped. 'Is it true? The story.' I made an inarticulate gesture. 'The part you told today?'

'All stories are true,' Skarpi said. 'But this one really happened, if that's what you mean.' He took another slow drink, then smiled again, his bright eyes dancing. 'More or less. You have to be a bit of a liar to tell a story the right way. Too much truth confuses the facts. Too much honesty makes you sound insincere.'"
(_The Name of the Wind_ by Patrick Rothfuss)

Lately, I have started really pondering the Truth of things. I'm am torn, wondering if Truth can ever be really found...

I have felt very much like River in this scene:

[Shepherd Book prepares a meal as he absentmindedly addresses River.]

Book: What are we up to, sweetheart?

River: Fixing your Bible.

Book: I, um... What?
[Pan over to River, who works on a book with pens, brushes, and loose pages.]

River: Bible's broken. Contradictions, false logistics... doesn't make sense.

Book: No, no. You—you can't...

River: So we'll integrate non-progressional evolution theory with God's creation of Eden. Eleven inherent metaphoric parallels already there. Eleven. Important number.
Prime number. One goes into the house of eleven eleven times, but always comes out one. Noah's ark is a problem.

Book: Really?

River: We'll have to call it "early quantum state phenomenon". Only way to fit 5,000 species of mammals on the same boat.
. . .
Book: River, you don't... fix the Bible.

River: It's broken. It doesn't make sense.

Book: It's not about... making sense. It's about believing in something. And letting that belief be real enough to change your life. It's about faith. You don't fix faith, River. It fixes you.

Still pondering,
