22 Years

Steve & I celebrated 22 years this year. It's a good start!

Our anniversary was on Wednesday; I don't know what we were thinking getting married so close to Thanksgiving! We rarely celebrate on the day.

This year, we celebrated today with church, then lunch at the Outback Steakhouse & watching a movie after that. We went and saw Blade Runner.

Lunch was great! The movie was good too, but be warned: you have to watch the first movie to understand the second. Steve thought it was fantastic! I was clueless.

The best part was sitting next to each other in the movie. The armrest flipped up, so we snuggled and watched the movie. That is something we don't do very often, so it was a real treat.

Thanks to Matthew for watching Michael for us. It was a wonderful day! ♥

PJs for Christmas

We put our tree up a couple of days ago so that when I buy presents I can immediately wrap them and put them under the tree. Yesterday, I bought most of the PJs and wrapped them... this is them, minus 2 pair. When I'm finished, there will be 22 pairs of PJs under the tree. Whew!
(PJs for Steve & me, the kids, and the grandkids. Our family is getting BIG! I love it! ♥ )

How to Cook Rice

Instructions on how to cook rice is here: ( link )

The only things I would change are:
don't rinse the rice
put all ingredients in the pot at the beginning

Start by heating the water on high; once it comes to a boil, give everything one last stir and turn the heat down to 7 (medium high). Don't lift the lid while cooking.

Holiday Kickoff with Santa at the Supermarket

Tonight was Holiday Kickoff at the supermarket, so we all went and the kiddos sat on Santa's lap.

And the samples! I love that our local supermarket puts this on every year. It is so nice to see Santa before the craziness of the holidays set in too deep. Mid-November is perfect for me.

The only grandkiddo missing was Brynley; they went to a hockey game instead. Hopefully Amber can get her pic taken with Santa sometime during the season, but with how much Amber still hates Santa, I'm not holding my breath. ;)

I, too, will praise him with a new song

"He has done marvelous things. I too, will praise him with a new song."

What will be my "new song" be?
