35/52::September 2

On Saturday we went to a dinosaur museum with the whole fam damily. Josh & Hayley +4 (Miah had gotten all scraped up when running a race, so she stayed home with Nana KC), Jared & Ruth, Matt, Michael, Steve & I all went - it was our Annual Labor Day Family Weekend :) (LOTS more pictures to come!)

This dinosaur is in the kids' room with an archeological dig already in process (dinosaur bones covered w/ sand, paintbrushes for removing sand are provided - there is also a slide going into the sandbox/dinosaur excavation area), a table for doing puzzles and coloring (and for crawling/scooting, of course :) ). Matt put his hand in the dinosaur's mouth, and Michael thought it looked like a cool idea and did it too - I think that this dinosaur was his favorite part of the museum! :)

I took this pic way back in May. You can probably see why I didn't use it :) I kept thinking that I'd be as diligent as I'd been in the past, and I'd get a better pic. But alas, no. So here is one of Mikey sitting in the garden back when I was getting it ready for planting. The grimace on his face is because I said, "Smile!" It was the best he could do with the sun in his eyes :)

I wrote about his birthday here.

This pic seems to sum him up on his birthday. He loves the idea of them, but for some reason he looks everywhere but where his candles are and will.not.blow them out. Funny, funny boy. Maybe one day he'll be able to verbalize why that is, but until then, we'll just keep doing what we do and blow out his candles for him :)

28/52::Michael at the Scottish Festival::July 12

We went to the Scottish Festival today. We walked around and looked at all of the little shops, ate some ethnic food, and sat and listened to the music and watched the performers. Michael sat in front of us for a little while but turned around often to talk to us often.

He liked the festival, but needed a couple of breaks as the day progressed. I understood, because the heat and intense sounds got to me sometimes too. Overall, it was a lot of fun!

24/52::Michael and Baby Mercedes::July 1

I found a pic that I will retroactively call: 52 Photo Project, #24 :)

On the 21st, Josh, Hayley, and the kids came down to play with us, so we took a trip to the park. I have been so busy with everything else, I still need to finish editing those pics, but here is a cute one of Michael and Baby Mercedes:

He's come a long way from his days of saying that Aiden was a "stinky little baby" :) Nieces and nephews are good for Michael!

25/52::Michael at Lavender Farms::June 30

I dropped the ball on the 52 Photo Project. Badly. But I realized a couple of weeks ago how much I love those pics from last year, so even though I can't go back in time and stay caught up, I can start where I am.

We went to Lavender Days this past weekend. I love Lavender Days with it's horse-drawn wagon rides, and the hamster balls in the wading pool for kids to play in, and the blacksmith shop, and the labyrinth, jousting, and the animals: bison, camel, elk, and all kinds and sizes of horses.

This picture was taken of Michael as he sat by me in his wheelchair during the jousting tournament ~ Mike loved Lavender Days too! His favorite was watching the kids in the hamster balls playing on the water of the wading pool. What he really wanted to do was jump in w/o the hamster ball and just play in the water! :)

The Grandkiddos::10/52::March 15

Last week the grandkiddos came to my house. It was the day after Daylight Savings time, and we were all pooped. Even Aiden took a nap! :)

Bentley loves to jump. In fact, he probably could stand unassisted, except that he bounces too much to stay upright :) In the exersaucer he can bounce to his hearts content... and he does! :)


A few months ago, Michael found this ginormous bucket that used to belong to his grandma, and every now and then insists on bringing it into the living room just to sit inside it. It makes me giggle :)

Hayley, Josh & the grandkids came to visit last Thursday, and I got pics of the two littlest ones. I posted Mercede's pic earlier, but saved Bentley's for the 52 photo project.
Look at this little guy, so happy to be sitting with Daddy :) What a cutie he is ♥


It was a warm day today ~ 42*! ~ so I thought it would be nice to go out and sit on the trampoline in the sunshine for a little while. It didn't last long, but a few minutes of sunshine in February was much needed.

This is Michael's new favorite toy. It was once Jared's, but since then the plug has been lost and the lightbulb burned out. Michael views it with hope, so we are trying to get it working for him :)

"A portrait of my child and grandchild, once a week, every week, in 2014." I didn't get a picture of Michael last week, but I'll just keep on keepin' on. These pics were taken at Aiden's birthday party at Josh's house. The rest of the party pictures will be coming soon. I still feel badly for forgetting my camera for Aiden's first birthday party with Karen, though.
