Finally, the snow is melted! The temperatures rose up above 40* yesterday. It rained today instead of snowing. Look at those beautiful rain puddles and swelling leaf buds on the tree! Ahhhh Spring, I can't wait until you come to stay!
I didn't write yesterday because I took Michael in to the Children's Hospital.
This is what I wrote on facebook, minus some details:
Today we spent 5 1/2 hours in the Children's Hospital's ER this morning. The joys of seizures.... or what aren't really seizures, but isn't normal behaviour either. Now we have to wait for a few weeks to talk to a Neurologist to see if the EEG showed any abnormalities this time. Here's hopin'! I'd love to give this thing a name, other than "an episode".
Then more explanation about it:
He has been having these things for years, but I've never been able to get an EEG when they are happening. I'm hoping that today's will reveal something about what these things are. He has had EEGs at other times, but it just shows normal brain activity.
He doesn't flail around during them, but almost looks like he is having a stroke. We do know that they aren't true seizures because they last for 2 hours at a time and he can respond and talk to us, but no doctor has been able to tell us what they are, though.
One thing that he always tells us when he is in the middle of one is that he "needs new batteries". Poor kid. The scariest was when he shouted out "you're gonna die!" It freaked me out, to say the least!
So that was my day yesterday. Michael has been his normal happy, busy self today. Good, healthy days are always such a blessing!
I'm off to finish dinner now that the kids are home from Alice in Wonderland. Pot roast and vegies, comin' right up!
Have a great one!
Bless his heart. I hope and pray they find out what causes them. There has got to be an explanation.
ReplyDeleteI know that has to scare you.
I'm glad your seeing signs of spring.
Your dinner sounds yummy!
