It has been a hard past couple of days, so "Thankful Thursday" is just what my soul needs! Silly that I need a "good reason" to sit and be thankful, huh?!
Okay, here goes:
So thankful Aiden is here safely and that he and Karen are doing well.
So thankful I thought of the word "Nurture" and felt inspired to include myself in those that need to be nurtured. I once had a nightgown that had a picture of Garfield with the caption "Be Your Own Best Friend" on the front of it. At the time, I was 12, I didn't like it: I looked to someone else to be my best friend for heaven sake! But after the past week of trying to live by my resolution I see the wisdom in the caption on that nightgown. No one else knows what I need deep down inside but me, and I can treat myself like I would my friend. Last night in particular I was trying to think of what I would do for my friend if she was having a hard day. I sat down in a locked room with a magazine for some quiet time. Because of that inspiration, I now try to think of what my body and soul needs to have to be comfortable and I do it. It has been a blessing. It is like refilling my own vessel after filling so many others'.
I'm thankful for repentance and that I get to "try, try, again" when at first I don't succeed.
I'm thankful for my sight. What a wonderfully beautiful world we live in!
I'm thankful for my family. For each and every member.
Today the kids and I are scrapping schoolwork and going for a field trip. Not quite sure where the day will lead, but we are excited for a fun day. I hope you have a great day too!
