Silent Sunday - Around the Lake

I've been sick all weekend, so today I needed to get out of the house into the sunshine (as much sunshine as there is on a grey winter's day) for a little while.

I couldn't go for a walk but thought a drive would be perfect, so we took a drive around the lake. Here is some of the beauty that we saw:

The contrast of the burnt browns of the grasses and shrubs against the grey blues of the mountains, sky, and water was striking.

The lake was frozen with only a few spots thawed, and the wind was really blowing hard. The combination made the swaying grasses above the frozen water look beautiful.

It appeared that waves had frozen in place. As the sun set, the colors blazed across the lake, showing off the textures that Jack Frost had created.

This inner tube from a bicycle was just flung over a strand of barbed wire fence. Usually I'd be bugged that someone littered, but as it was, it looked like a make-shift Valentine's Day decoration.

What caught your eye this weekend?
