Holy Macros! Tuesday, Sept. 7

On our camping trip, I played around with some macro pics & I like how they turned out!

These flowers remind me of a wedding cake :)

I'd love to know what kind of plant this is! It looks like the center of a black-eyed susan, but there isn't, nor ever were, petals, so I'm stumped! Do you know?

This looked like lots of little dandelion wishing flowers on one plant:

I love the color contrast on this one; it is amazing what a little red can do!

And I played around with yesterday's pic a little:

I've decided that I'm going to turn it into an 8x8 canvas, right along with this one:

I read something the other day that I felt was so profoundly true.... I wish I would have written it down! BUT, to paraphrase it said that a happy life is made up of lots of happy moments. I hope that you can bask in the little, happy moments that come your way today. :)

Our Labor Day Weekend: Tuesday, Sept. 6

After the wedding on Saturday, we all decided that we needed some downtime, so we went camping. While the boys and Emily went off exploring and playing, Karen & Aiden took a nap, and Steve & Michael swung in the hammock

I took a nap for a little while too. Sleep wasn't so great the night before, with the coyotes or wild dogs fighting and barking in the distance... I was so nervous! I woke up Steve and laid awake trying to decide if I wanted to pack up camp and go home at 2 a.m., but.... the helicopters that was circling around us for a couple of hours must have scared them away. Helicopters aren't something usual in the mountains, so I'm not sure why they were there, but I'm glad that they scared away the wild dogs/coyotes, that's for sure!

And as for the wedding pics I promised...... I didn't get any. :( I was running, running, running from before the ceremony until clean-up until 11 p.m. I'm hoping that the photographer took LOTS of snapshot pics as well as the portraits that she took of all of the family, the wedding, and the bride and groom.

Amber looked beautiful and Tino looked handsome on their big day. There were mishaps, but I guess they are really to be expected.

I hope that you all had a wonderful Labor Day Weekend and that you enjoyed all of it with people you love and who love you. Life doesn't get any better than that!
